POCO’s line of high-purity silicon carbide products is marketed under the SUPERSiC trade name. Through the company’s new SUPERSiC Material System, customers can create their “own” unique silicon carbide materials, customized precisely for specific applications.

With the Material System, customers select from an array of infiltration materials, cleaning options, coating materials and thicknesses to create the material specifications that meets their precise needs. Customers may also specify additional post-processing operations, such as infiltrations, cleans, coatings and claddings.

Another advantage: POCO’s unique conversion process produces the highest quality silicon carbide products available on the market today. This process starts with graphite material specially designed and manufactured for use as the precursor in the conversion process. Near net parts are machined in graphite, purified, and subjected to a proprietary conversion process which substitutes pure silicon atoms for carbon atoms. The result is SUPERSIC, POCO’s high purity silicon carbide.
